Rupert Hopkins

Rupert Hopkins is the founder and CEO of XSB. Rupert has over 25 years of experience in the field of logistics and economic development.

Hopkins began their career in 1987 as the Long Island Regional Director of Economic Development for the State of New York. In this role, they were responsible for attracting new businesses to the region and helping existing businesses grow. Rupert helped create over 100,000 new jobs on Long Island during their eight-year tenure in this position.

In 1995, Hopkins joined Dayton T. Brown, Inc., as the Director of the Center for Alternative Sources of Parts (CASP). CASP was a DARPA-funded effort to introduce new technology to the field of logistics. The system used the powerful XSB Prolog engine to extract and infer information about parts and about the companies who manufactured them. The center was based upon a network of more than 100 specialized manufacturers. The CASP strategic sourcing tool was used to solve difficult Diminishing Manufacturing Source problems for the post Cold War Aerospace and Defense sector.

Hopkins left Dayton T. Brown in 1998 to start their own company, XSB. XSB is a software company that specializes in developing tools for the logistics industry. Hopkins has grown XSB into a successful business with a team of over 50 employees.
