Shelton Reese

Shelton Reese has a long and varied work experience in the IT field. Shelton began their career in 1999 as a DBA at IBM, where they provided expertise in a number of Application & Integration Middle-ware (AIM) based software product areas. In 2002, they became a Sr. IT Consultant and DB2 DBA Expert at Xtivia, where they were responsible for DB2 Advanced Product Support on Linux Unix Windows environment. From 2005 to 2010, they worked at CSC as a Senior DBA, providing leadership for the Database Administration Group and training and mentoring for junior members of the team. During this time, they also worked as a Consulting DB2 DBA at WalMart. In 2010, they joined BMO Financial Group as a DBA. Most recently, they were a Sr. DBA at Highku, where they designed a relational storage system that achieves scalable storage in providing on-demand video services.

Shelton Reese obtained a Master of Science in Management Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 1979 and 1981. Shelton has also obtained several certifications, including Bluemix Essentials, Cloud Application Developer Certification Preparation V2, Discover your inner chatbot: find valuable insights with IBM Watson, Get started with Istio and IBM Cloud Container Service, IBM Blockchain Foundation Developer, Node-RED: basics to bots, DB2 Advanced Database Administrator, and Oracle Database 10g Administrator Certified Professional (OCP) from IBM and Oracle University in 2018 and 2010 respectively.
