Karen Walsh has a strong background in iOS development and mobile app management. Karen started their career as an intern Game Developer at Open Emotion Studios in 2012, where they gained experience working on various game development projects. In 2012, they also worked as an iOS Developer at Athlone Institute of Technology.
In 2014, Karen joined Till Now Limited as an iOS Developer and became the lead developer on the Reg Point of Sale app and Reg Remote app. Karen worked on these projects until 2015.
Later in 2015, Karen joined Hospital Contact as an App Developer, where they were the sole developer for the Galway Effective Theatre app. Karen was responsible for the entire app life cycle, including requirements gathering, app mock-ups, development, maintenance, and bug fixing.
In 2016, they worked as an iOS Developer at fafinder by frockadvisor, maintaining and developing the existing iOS app.
From 2017 to 2020, Karen worked at Spectrum.Life as a Mobile team lead. In this role, they were accountable for the entire life cycle of the iOS and Android apps. Karen'sresponsibilities included managing the mobile team and ensuring the successful development and maintenance of the apps.
Currently, Karen is working as an iOS Developer at Xtremepush since 2022.
Karen Walsh attended Our Lady's Bower from 2003 to 2009, where they received their Leaving Certificate. Karen then went on to study at the Technology University of the Shannon, Athlone Campus from 2009 to 2013, earning a BSc. in Software Design with a specialization in Game Development. In April 2019, they obtained the Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I) certification from Scrum.org.
