Renwei Liu

Renwei Liu's work experience includes roles as a 3D computer vision engineer at XYKEN, LLC, starting in May 2022. Prior to that, Renwei worked at Automated Precision Inc. as a Senior Engineer, leading computer-vision based 3D scanning system/product and application projects R&D. Renwei also worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Automated Precision Inc. from August 2016 to June 2021. Additionally, Renwei has experience as a Research Assistant at Missouri S&T, where they proposed and developed stereo vision-based automated repair processes for metal defect rework and derived methods for 3D model alignment, defect reconstruction, and tool path generation in additive manufacturing. Renwei's work experience demonstrates expertise in computer vision, product design and development, and research in hybrid manufacturing.

Renwei Liu completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Automation from Shandong University in 2009. Moving forward, Liu pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university, which was achieved in 2012. Liu then furthered their education by completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology between 2012 and 2016.
