Thomas Chen

Thomas Chen is a Lead Data Scientist at Xylem, specializing in digital solutions for drinking water management, with a focus on digital twins modeling, real-time remote sensing, and predictive modeling for asset optimization. Chen has experience in delivering digital solutions to multiple North American utilities and advancing risk analysis methodologies in engineering infrastructure. Previously, Chen served as a Senior Data Scientist and a Research Data Scientist at Xylem, contributing to asset performance optimization and engineering infrastructure risk analysis. Academic achievements include a Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, as well as a Bachelor’s degree from The Johns Hopkins University. Chen is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Science and Cartography.
