Andrea Nye

Andrea Nye is the CEO of Xylyx Bio, a company that they previously served as the Director of Columbia Biomedical Accelerator. In this role, they were responsible for providing funding, education, resources and mentorship to interdisciplinary teams of clinicians, engineers, scientists and students working to develop solutions to clinical unmet needs. Over the course of their six years in this role, they awarded over $4,700,000 to fund 43 highly vetted projects addressing a broad range of unmet clinical needs.

Prior to their work with Columbia Biomedical Accelerator, Andrea served as the Assistant Director of the Columbia-Coulter Translational Research Partnership. In this role, they were responsible for supporting faculty in leveraging government and foundation grants for translational research efforts.

Andrea has a long history of working in the field of biomedical engineering and translational research. Andrea holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Duke University and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.

Andrea Nye has an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MPH from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and a BA in Anthropology-Biology from Western Washington University.
