Alex Matzner

Alex Matzner is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in design and leadership within the tech and e-commerce sectors. As Co-Founder and Advisor at y3k studio since September 2019, Matzner has contributed to innovative projects and strategies. Previously served as COO at comma.ai from June 2020 to February 2025, and held the position of Interface at Tlon from October 2018 to August 2019. Matzner has a notable background in design, having worked as Director of Design at harvest.ai and as Senior Product Designer at POPSUGAR, where a new shopping experience app called Fave was conceptualized and designed. Earlier work as a Product Designer at Threadflip included creating an e-commerce app that gained significant media attention. Matzner holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art and has studied at Nanjing University.
