Aravind Somanchi

Aravind Somanchi has had a long and varied career in the field of biology. Aravind began their career in 1998 as a Post Doctoral Fellow at The Scripps Research Institute. In 2002, they moved to Auburn University as an Assistant Professor. In 2005, they joined Solazyme, Inc. as a Scientist. During their time at Solazyme, they were promoted to Senior Scientist II, Discovery & Molecular Biology in 2007, and then to Senior Scientist II, Discovery & Molecular Biology in 2013. In 2016, they moved to TerraVia Holdings, Inc. as an Associate Director, Discovery & Molecular Biology. In 2017, they joined UBA Biologix as CSO. In 2018, they moved to Trelys, Inc. as an Associate Director, Strain Development. In 2019, they joined Provenance Bio as CTO. Most recently, in 2022, they joined Yali Bio as VP Biology.

Aravind Somanchi obtained their PhD in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University between 1992 and 1998.
