Yali Labs is an AI company dedicated to empowering Rwanda’s local community and positioning the nation as a leader in Africa’s AI innovation. At the heart of our mission is Alta, a comprehensive suite of tools meticulously designed for the Kinyarwanda language. Alta transforms the way natural language processing is approached by providing:

Alta Tokenizer: A state-of-the-art text processing tool that dissects Kinyarwanda text into meaningful “tokens” with exceptional precision. This granular breakdown not only enhances the accuracy of language understanding but also forms the backbone for advanced linguistic applications.
Alta Model: A foundation model built on a transformer architecture, specifically tailored to capture the rich nuances of Kinyarwanda. This innovative model drives sophisticated language comprehension and generation, setting new benchmarks for local language AI.

We are not just developing AI solutions, we are crafting a future where Rwandan innovation drives global standards in language processing and AI research. Our work underscores a commitment to cultural and linguistic inclusivity, ensuring that the digital evolution benefits every member of our community.
