Samar Obeid

Samar Obeid has extensive experience in the mining industry, currently serving as a Mergers and Acquisitions professional at Yancoal Australia Ltd since September 2022. Prior to this role, Samar worked at BHP as a Production Engineer and at Rio Tinto in multiple capacities, including Executive to TS General Manager and Graduate Mining Engineer. Earlier career experiences include positions as an Undergraduate Mining Engineer at SIMEC - Australia and Vacation Student roles at Glencore. Samar holds a Bachelor of Mining Engineering with First Class Honours from the University of Wollongong and has further academic credentials from the China University of Mining and Technology.
