Andrey Karmatsky

Andrey Karmatsky has extensive experience in product management and design, currently serving as Chief Product Officer at Yandex since March 2024. Prior to this role, Karmatsky was the Robotaxi Lead at Yandex from September 2021 to November 2023 and held multiple positions at Yandex.Taxi, including Head of Product Analytics and Geo & Mobility Product Team Lead between May 2019 and September 2021. Karmatsky also founded Urbica Design, a consultancy firm in Moscow, serving as CEO from June 2015 to December 2019. Earlier experience includes leadership roles at Yandex from 2007 to 2015 focused on UI/UX design and product management, project management at Abak Press, and team leadership at Ural State University of Railway Transport, where Karmatsky developed systems for an intranet portal and online education. Educational background includes an engineering degree in Information Systems from Ural State University of Railway Transport.
