Roland Selmer is an experienced professional with a diverse range of work experience in the telecommunications industry. Roland began their career at Telkom as a Senior Strategist in 1999, before moving on to roles at Orange, where they worked as a Principal, Product Design and Principal, Network Architecture Design. Roland then co-founded REVOMARK LIMITED in 2006. Selmer later joined France Telecom EGT as a Senior Product Manager, and subsequently worked as a Group Product Manager at Augere. In 2012, they joined Telefónica Digital as a Voice Platform Product Owner, where they played a key role in developing the company's next-generation voice platform. In 2014, Selmer co-founded CONNECTICO LTD, where they were responsible for product and operations. Roland then joined Nexmo (now Vonage) in 2015 as the Voice and WebRTC Product Director, leading the Programmable Voice, WebRTC, and Elastic SIP Product team. Selmer then progressed to roles at Vonage, first as the VP Product and later as the SVP Product, where they successfully rebuilt the product team and contributed to significant revenue growth through new product development. Most recently, in 2021, Selmer joined Yapily as the CPO.
Roland Selmer pursued their education in a sequential manner, beginning with their Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering at the University of KwaZulu-Natal from 1992 to 1996. Roland then proceeded to pursue a Master of Science in Electronic Engineering at the same institution, completing it between 1997 and 1998. Later, in 2004 and 2005, Roland enrolled at the University of Bath, where they obtained an MBA with a focus on Business Administration. Furthermore, in November 2020, they undertook a certification course in "Fostering Inclusion and Diversity" at the Yale School of Management.
