Yaptes was founded in 1979 by Ali Akgün, and transformed into corporation in 1985.  
Yaptes has remained as the official distributor of Pahlen AB products in Turkey since 1988.

The company is the constituent member of International Pool Institute (UHE) which was established in 1995.
