A literary and cultural magazine rooted in West African life, language, and imagination. We publish stories, essays, poems, cultural criticism, photo essays, and linguistic explorations. We intend to curate the best stories, thoughts, and ideas from Africans at home and in the diaspora.

As a publication, we are seeking work from talented visual artists and writers. We are looking for pieces that make us reexamine well-established ideas. Writing that makes us pause after each paragraph to fully digest what we’ve read. Work that helps us see old patterns through a new lens. Ideas that are new and surprising. We want to hear from fresh voices, so we welcome pitches from those who don’t consider themselves writers but have something to say.
