Sr. DevOps Engineer II at Yello

Michael Bogucki has a wealth of work experience spanning from 1997 to the present. Michael began their career as a Research Assistant at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory, where they developed device drivers in C for the Linux OS and co-developed the Duo-View Visualization System. From there, they moved to Murray Consulting as an Engineering Consultant, where they designed and prototyped a human-computer-interface device. In 1999, they began working at the Chicago Board of Trade as a Unix Systems Administrator, where they were involved in the day-to-day operations of 300+ corporate systems. In 2001, they took on a Prototyping Consultant role at VRCO Inc, where they designed and prototyped a medical device. In 2008, they became a Unix Systems Administrator/Systems Analyst at the General Board of Pensions and Health Benefits, providing HP-UX installation, maintenance, upgrade, security, and disaster recovery services. In 2011, they joined Zoro Tools as a Sr. Linux/AWS Cloud Administrator, co-developing infrastructure and implementing Nagios. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as an Engineering/Prototyping Consultant at Rush University Medical Center, designing and fabricating an electromechanical prototype. Michael then began working at Hyatt Hotels Corporation as a Sr. AWS Cloud Engineer/Linux Systems Administrator and eCommerce Sr. Operations and Systems Engineer. In 2017, they joined Yello.co as a Sr. DevOps Engineer II, and in 2022 they began working as an Adjunct Lecturer at Oakton College.

Michael Bogucki began their educational journey in 1989 when they graduated from Niles North High School with a High School Diploma. Michael then attended Oakton College from 1992 to 1996, where they studied Pre-Engineering. From 1996 to 2000, they attended the University of Illinois Chicago, where they obtained a degree in Computer Engineering. In 2002, they graduated from DeVry University, Chicago with a B.S. in Computer Engineering. In 1999, they obtained an Open Water Diver certification from PADI.
