Roger Taracha

Roger Taracha has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Roger is currently working with Yellow Card App as a Product Engineering Manager, where they lead a team focused on building financial product offerings for emerging markets. Roger manages cross-functional teams and provides regular feedback to team members.

Prior to this, Roger worked with CircleCI as a Technical Writer. Roger was responsible for writing technical documentation.

Before that, Roger worked with Premise Data as a Senior Software Engineer and Build Engineer. Roger developed location-based features and introduced Developer Productivity Engineering to reduce build times. Roger also implemented client-side image detection.

Roger also has experience working at Andela as a Senior Software Engineer and Technical Team Lead. Roger was responsible for developing features and leading a team of junior engineers. Roger also served as a Simulations Facilitator, mentoring aspiring software developers.

Earlier in their career, Roger worked at Kenyaweb.com Ltd as a Software Engineer, where they were involved in software design, development, and customer support. Roger also worked at the National Youth Service as a Sessional Lecturer and Kenya Power as an Intern.

Roger Taracha completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Telecommunication and Information Technology from Kenyatta University in the years 2009 to 2013. In 2013, they also attended eMobilis Kenya and obtained a certification in MIT/NOKIA EEPROM Mobile Phone Application Programming Course. Roger has also obtained several certifications in different areas, such as Tech Career Skills, Android App Development, Building RESTful Web APIs with Django, Gradle for Java Developers, Securing Android Apps, Software Testing, Android App Development Design Patterns, Android App Development RESTful Web Services, Effective Android Testing, and Leading without Formal Authority. Additionally, they received the Nokia Mobile Technology Entrepreneurship Program & Android Development Certification from eMobilis in June 2013.
