Gavin Downing

Gavin Downing is an experienced educator and lead developer with a diverse background in teaching and curriculum development. Currently serving as a Teacher-Librarian at Kent School District since September 2018 and as a one-on-one teacher at Yellow Wood Academy since April 2014, Gavin specializes in personalized education for students facing challenges in traditional learning settings. Previously, Gavin taught various subjects at Kent School District from 2006 to 2014, frequently focusing on middle school language arts and social studies. In addition to teaching, Gavin has over two decades of experience as a Lead Developer at Deep7, overseeing creative projects and contributing to writing, editing, and art design. Gavin holds a Master's degree in Education from Antioch University Seattle and a Bachelor's degree in Education from City University of Seattle.
