Brian Verdine, Ph.D. has worked in various roles in the education and technology industries since 2002. In 2002, they started as a Research Assistant at Penn State University's Cognitive and Social Development Lab, where they collected and coded data related to the use of maps for navigation. In 2003, they began working as a Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University's Early Development Lab, where they managed undergraduate research assistants, designed studies, collected and analyzed data, wrote academic papers, and presented lab experiments. Brian also served as a Teaching Assistant at Vanderbilt University.

In 2009, Brian Verdine, Ph.D. started as a Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Developmental Stuttering Project, where they collected, processed, and entered behavioral, physiological, and language data from children who stutter and typically developing children ages 3-7 years of age. In 2011, they began working as a Post-doctoral Researcher in Education at the University of Delaware's Child's Play, Learning, & Development Lab, where they investigated early childhood geometry and spatial skills and how these influence later mathematics abilities and school performance.

In 2016, Brian Verdine, Ph.D. began working as an Independent Consultant, providing product development consultation and grant feasibility and writing consultation. In 2017, they were appointed as an Affiliated Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Delaware, where they pursued academic research and publishing projects.

In 2018, Brian Verdine, Ph.D. started working at Yellowdig as the Vice President of Academic Product Engagement, Head of Client Success, and Learning and Academic Support Manager. During their time at Yellowdig, they adhered to the lean start-up mentality and their duties were quite varied. Brian also worked as a consultant for the implementation of educational principles in iPad applications and an app platform designed to teach children.

Brian Verdine, Ph.D. obtained their B.S. in Psychology from Penn State University between 1999 and 2003. Brian then went on to Vanderbilt University where they obtained their M.S. in Psychology from 2003 to 2005 and their Ph.D. in Psychology from 2005 to 2010. More recently, they obtained the COLTT 2020 Badge | Session Leader from the University of Colorado in September 2020 and was certified by Yellowdig in January 2020.
