Alan Parry has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Alan started their career as a Project Database Developer at Nationwide Building Society in 1998. Alan then moved on to work as an Interactive Media Specialist at HP in 2000. In 2004, Alan worked as an Interactive Media Consultant at Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival, where they designed and deployed a digital workflow solution for content management. Alan joined HP again in 2005 as a Project Manager, Research Engineering, and later transitioned to the role of Program Manager, Advanced Development, Office of The Chief Engineer, HP Labs. At HP, Alan managed a range of technology transfer and advanced development projects, establishing collaborations across different countries. In 2009, they joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise as an Advanced Development Manager and eventually became the R&D Manager for ContainerOS. Alan also has experience as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Bristol, where they supervised student projects and lectured on Global Teams. Their most recent role is the Director of Engineering at YellowDog Limited, where they lead the engineering team and turns the company's vision into a reliable and scalable product. YellowDog is a successful start-up with notable customers. Overall, Alan Parry has a strong background in technology, software development, project management, and collaborative team-building.

Alan Parry attended the University of Bristol from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a degree in Computer Science (MEng). In terms of additional certifications, Alan obtained a 1 Star certification from British Canoeing in October 2015. Alan also holds a Scrum Master certification from Agile Alliance, obtained in 2009, and a Prince2 Practitioner certification from APMG International, obtained in 2006. In addition, Alan has a Gold Swimming Certificate from The ASA - Swim England, obtained in June 1988, and a Blue Peter Badge from Blue Peter, obtained in June 1986.
