Simon Ponsford

Simon Ponsford has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. In 1996, they started their career as an IT Development Officer at Bath & North East Somerset Council. Simon then moved on to Vision International Holdings in 1998, where they served as a Technical Manager, focusing on developing technology solutions for selling cosmetic products in Russia. Simon later joined Flexion Systems in 1999 as the Chief Information Officer, where they played a significant role in defining customer interaction processes and implementing unified messaging technologies.

In 2001, Simon became the Chief Technical Architect at SunGard, where they led a team of 50 developers in delivering a long-awaited custody processing system to the Home Office. After their stint at SunGard, Simon was appointed as the CEO of Cranberry in 2002, overseeing the development of environmentally-friendly computers. During their tenure, Cranberry launched the low-power and environmentally conscious Cranberry SC20 computer.

In 2010, Simon founded Tivarri Limited, a company specializing in cloud IT solutions. Tivarri helps clients leverage cloud technology to reduce IT costs, improve flexibility, and enhance business scalability. In 2011, Simon joined Qatar Foundation as a Senior Scientist at the Qatar Computing Research Institute. During their time there, they were responsible for cloud computing research and developed new cloud technologies. Simon left Qatar Foundation in 2013.

Simon's next major role was in 2015 when they joined YellowDog Limited as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). YellowDog offers workload management software for organizations to power their innovations with scalability and efficiency. Simon later took on the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in September 2020, overseeing the company's operations and helping businesses accomplish more with automated workflows. Their tenure as CEO at YellowDog ended in April 2022.

Simon Ponsford attended King's College London from 1993 to 1996, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Human Environmental Science.
