Colin Chapman has held various roles in the tech industry since 1991. Colin began their career as a Staff Consultant at Accenture, where they supervised a programming team and organized and conducted two 10-day training sessions. Colin then worked as a Product Design Engineer at Ford Motor Company, where they designed and developed assembly path planning software and prepared analyses of worldwide vehicle line development costs and profitability. In 1997, they were Director of Engineering at Be There Now, an angel-funded startup that converted photographs of real estate into photorealistic 3D virtual tours. In 2000, they became President of FarmSaver.com, a startup generic pesticide manufacturer, where they launched Oryzalin herbicide and recommended that the company abandon its direct-to-farmer business model. In 2009, they founded Clariture, a custom software development consulting firm. In 2014, they co-founded rateBridge, a web-based price list management system. In 2019, they became a Senior Software Engineer at Hazel Analytics, a fast-growing food tech company. Colin is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Yesler Building Materials Marketplace. Colin has also served on the Board of Directors and as CEO of Ozone International, a manufacturer of environmentally-sustainable cleaning and sanitizing systems, and on the Board of Trustees of ACT Theatre, where they served as President, Secretary, and chair of the Audience Development committee.
Colin Chapman attended the University of Washington from 1987 to 1991, where they earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Magna Cum Laude. Colin then went on to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1992 to 1994, where they earned an S.M. in Mechanical Engineering.
