Sr. Industrial Designer at YETI

Calvin Tabor has a diverse work experience in the field of industrial design. Calvin started their career as a Product Design Intern at Jakks Pacific in 2011, where they worked on the Boys Interactive Toys Team and gained experience in sketching and generating new toy concepts. After that, they worked as a Product Design Consultant at Diebold, where they focused on solving the problems of ATM card fraud and gained skills in research, ideation, and presentation. Calvin then worked at NONOBJECT as a Design Intern, where they had the opportunity to work on various design projects from ideation to prototyping.

In 2011, Calvin joined Contour Products Inc. as a Market Research and Product Design Consultant before being promoted to Product Designer. In this role, they worked closely with sales and marketing to develop new product ideas and brought them to market through sketched concepts, proof of concept models, and digital models. Calvin'swork at Contour Products Inc. allowed him to gain experience in developing both soft goods and hard goods, and they also completed textile and sewing courses, gained expertise in 3D printing, and traveled to China.

From 2015 to 2019, Calvin worked at Gemline as an Industrial Designer. Calvin and their design team focused on creating promotional products that provided lasting brand impressions by emphasizing functionality and trends. Currently, Calvin is working at YETI Coolers as a Senior Industrial Designer. Initially hired for their expertise in soft goods, they have since expanded their skillset to design both hard goods and soft goods. Calvin values the opportunities for growth and learning under talented mentors at YETI.

Calvin Tabor pursued their education from 2007 to 2009 at Kendall College of Art and Design, where they studied Industrial Design. Calvin then continued their studies at Cleveland Institute of Art from 2009 to 2012, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Industrial Design.
