YIMBA’s founder and Managing Director, Damien Barnes, has extensive legal, commercial and civil engineering experience working with; King & Wood Mallesons, DLA Piper, UGL, CB&I, O'Donnell Griffin, Power Minerals, NTSCorp and local & state government.  Damien has an Executive MBA, LLB, B.Eng (Civil) and Grad. Cert. in Indigenous Leadership. 

YIMBA is 100% Indigenous owned, managed and controlled by Damien Barnes.  Damien is a Bidjara man from central QLD with family connections to Woorabinda QLD.

“YIMBA” is a Bidjara word which means: “listen, know and understand”.  Damien believes it's crucial for Indigenous Australians to listen, know and understand Australian society, in particular the business sector, in order to thrive.
