Sadia Afrin Ani is a dedicated sustainability specialist currently working at YKK Bangladesh Pte Ltd. since June 2023, with a focus on sustainability and marketing. Sadia has been serving as the convener for the Geography & Environmental Community of Bangladesh since June 2020 and acts as a mentor for the Girlz, FTW program, aimed at connecting young girls with women leaders globally. YKK Bangladesh Pte Ltd is one of the emerging and rapid growing zipper manufacturers among the YKK Group and in the globe in terms of its production capacity and business volume. It belongs to YKK ASIA region and incorporated in the year 2000. However, the history of YKK business in Bangladesh started in 1989 with setting up YKK Singapore liaison office in Dhaka and afterword opened a branch office in Chittagong in 1997. After incorporation as YKK Bangladesh Pte Ltd; we constructed our manufacturing plant in Dhaka Export Processing Zone in 2001 and commercial production started in 2002. YKK Bangladesh completed its expansion of 2nd & 3rd Phase in 2005 & 2011 respectively. At present we have 2 manufacturing plant located on plot #06-16 and 89-91 in DEPZ. Besides the production plant, we have our head office in Dhaka and a branch office in Chattogram, Gazipur, Narayamganj. There are around 2000 employees are working in YKK Bangladesh considering all of its locations in Bangladesh. In FY 2018 YKK BGD achieved 1 billion pieces in production for the first time also has plans to expand its business in the near future. YKK Bangladesh is the company who has the commitments not only for their business development but also the improvement for the society as well as the part of economic development in this country.
