David Tsao

David Tsao serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Instacart, overseeing Security Engineering, IT, and Governance, Risk & Compliance teams since November 2022. As a co-founder of SVCI - Silicon Valley CISO Investments since September 2019, David contributes to the cyber security industry by advising startups. Previous roles include VP of Security Engineering at Marqeta, CISO at BYTON, and Global Information Security Officer at Veeva Systems, where responsibilities encompassed security operations, compliance, and incident response management. David's extensive experience in IT security began at Gilead Sciences, where a comprehensive enterprise Information Security program was established. Educational background includes a B.S. in Chemistry with a focus on Biochemistry from Pacific Union College.
