Sounil Yu

Sounil Yu is a seasoned professional in the cybersecurity field, currently serving as Chief AI Officer at Knostic since October 2023. Yu is the author of a book on the Cyber Defense Matrix and continues to speak and advise on its applications through ongoing roles at IANS and the National Security Institute at George Mason University. As a Venture Advisor and CISO-in-Residence at YL Ventures, Sounil supports Israeli tech entrepreneurs and manages investments in cybersecurity. Additional roles include advising RealCISO.io, investing in Valence Security, Sublime Security, and GreyNoise Intelligence, and participating in the Team8 CISO Village, a global network for cybersecurity leaders. Sounil holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Economics from Duke University and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
