Shekita Wilkins

Shekita Wilkins has extensive experience in various roles related to community development and youth programs. Shekita most recently worked at The Y in Central Maryland as the Sr. Executive Director of Corporate Development. In this role, they were responsible for securing grants and developing partnerships to support youth development programs. Shekita also served as the Grants Manager prior to this role, where they successfully managed a multi-million-dollar portfolio and wrote compelling proposals. Before joining The Y, Shekita worked at Druid Heights Community Development as the Community Schools Resource Coordinator, where they played a key role in creating and implementing community school strategies. Shekita also worked at Greater Homewood Community Corporation as the Director of Barclay Youth Safe Haven, where they supervised staff and managed grant fidelity. Prior to that, they worked at a2z, Inc. as the Marketing & Communication Administrator and Administrative Assistant, where they contributed to marketing campaigns and managed day-to-day administrative operations.

Shekita Wilkins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science/Accounting and Non-Profit Management/Youth Development from Coppin State University from 2003 to 2009.
