Alicia Route

Alicia Route currently serves as a Principal Consultant at the Illinois State Board of Education since June 2024. Additionally, Alicia is a Group Fitness Instructor at Springfield YMCA since March 2021, specializing in vinyasa yoga and promoting mindfulness and self-compassion among students. Previous experience includes working as a Legislative Analyst for the State Universities Retirement System from January 2022 to June 2024, where summaries of key legislation and committee hearings were prepared. Earlier roles at the Illinois State Comptroller’s Office included Assistant Liaison and Legislative Aide, contributing to business networking and customer satisfaction efforts. Alicia also held various positions in customer service and administrative support, demonstrating strong communication skills. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Illinois Springfield and an Associate of Arts from Lincoln Land Community College.
