Julia Collins

Julia Collins currently serves as the Communications Director at Camp Kanata within the YMCA of the Triangle since October 2023. Previously, Julia gained extensive experience in hospitality as a waitress at Gonza Tacos y Tequila from September 2021 to October 2023, where multi-tasking and customer service in high-pressure situations were essential. As the Events and Programming Coordinator at YMCA Camp Kanata from May 2022 to August 2023, Julia oversaw staff evaluations and planned events for large groups, while ensuring camper safety. Additional roles included a Press Office Intern for the Office of the Governor and a Finance Fellow for Jeff Jackson's U.S. Senate campaign, both providing valuable insights into political communications and campaign finance. Julia's early career included a training coordinator position at YMCA Camp Kanata, focused on lifeguard training and safety. Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Journalism from North Carolina State University, completed in May 2023.
