Susan Alvarez

Susan Alvarez serves as the Director of Guest Services at San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance since May 2021, leading efforts to promote wildlife conservation and enhance guest engagement at one of the world’s renowned conservation organizations. Concurrently, Susan has been an Indoor Cycling Instructor at YMCA of San Diego County since April 2005 and has held various leadership roles within the YMCA, including Associate Executive Director II and Department Head, responsible for operations and membership across multiple branches. Susan's earlier experience includes a marketing and public relations internship at Jennings & Associates Communications, Inc. Susan holds a BA in Communication from UC San Diego and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from UC San Diego Extended Studies. Additional training includes Dale Carnegie Training in 2017.
