Casey Cain

Senior Technical Community Architect at Yocto Project

Casey Cain has over 20 years of work experience in the technology industry. Casey started their career at Hewlett-Packard, where they served as a Customer Support Specialist, providing help desk support and resolving customer issues with HP Photosmart brand products. Casey then served in the US Army in various roles, including Information Technology Specialist. During their time in the Army, they gained experience in repairing guided electronic missile systems and managing supply operations.

After leaving the Army, Casey worked as a Certified Service Engineer at Xerox, where they provided Tier 3 engineering support and performed setup and configuration of Xerox machines on customer networks. Casey then worked at Cascade Computer Maintenance as a Field Network Engineer, building and configuring Windows servers, managing Microsoft Exchange servers, and troubleshooting networking devices.

Casey joined Bonneville Power Administration as a Senior Linux Engineer, where they planned, built, configured, and deployed STIG compliant Red Hat servers. Casey also managed Linux, Solaris, and Windows servers in different networks.

At Intel Corporation, Casey worked as a Network Validation Engineer, responsible for building, configuring, and deploying Windows and Linux servers. Casey validated new driver releases, installed and configured debug drivers and firmware, and performed performance and compliance testing of network interfaces.

Casey then joined TiVo as a Linux Systems Engineer, troubleshooting and resolving customer and internal system issues. Casey also monitored Linux and Windows systems and provided support to internal and international customers.

At Google Fiber, Casey served as a Technical Program Manager and owned all aspects of the experimental programs. Casey set high-level goals and strategies and coordinated with various teams for software changes and application development.

Most recently, Casey worked at the Linux Foundation as a Senior Technical Community Architect. In this role, they were responsible for the Linux Foundation Networking Umbrella projects. Casey prepared and presented content for board meetings, organized and managed training and technical tracks at industry events, and managed board committees.

Throughout their career, Casey has demonstrated expertise in technical support, system administration, network engineering, and program management.

Casey Cain's education history includes two main periods of study. In 2000, Casey began attending the US Army School for Missile & Munitions Technology, where they pursued a degree in Land Combat Guided Electronic Missile Systems Repairer and specialized in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. This program lasted until 2001.

In 2010, Casey enrolled in the US Army School for Information Technology, focusing on becoming an Information Technology Specialist. Unfortunately, no specific field of study is provided in the information.
