Hilary Carter has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Hilary is currently serving as the SVP Research and Communications at The Linux Foundation, where they are responsible for promoting open source as a paradigm for mass collaboration. Prior to this, they held the role of VP Research at the same organization, where they focused on investigating the growing scale of open source collaboration and providing insights into emerging technology trends.
Hilary has also worked as an Advisor at VeriTX, a digital supply chain solution provider, and as a Senior Advisor at LINKSPORTS INTERNATIONAL CORP. Hilary has served as an Advisory Board Member at Eva, and as the Managing Director at the Blockchain Research Institute, where they built a community around distributed ledger technology and cryptocurrencies and managed company operations.
Before these roles, Hilary founded InTune Communications, where they worked as a Digital Communications Consultant, helping leaders and organizations create business opportunities using digital networks. Hilary also worked as an Editorial Contributor at DK Consultancy, where they provided freelance writing and editorial services.
Hilary has previous experience at top financial institutions, including UBS, Franklin Templeton Investments, and RBC Dominion Securities, where they held various roles in market research, analysis, private client advising, and investment analysis.
Throughout their career, Hilary has demonstrated expertise in research, communications, digital transformation, and leadership. Hilary has a strong background in open source technologies, blockchain, and digital supply chain solutions.
Hilary Carter completed an MSc in Management at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 1996 to 1997. Prior to that, they obtained a B.A.H. in Political Studies from Queen's University between 1991 and 1995. In 1994, they completed the Canadian Securities Course at the Canadian Securities Institute, and in 1995, they also completed the Conduct and Practices course at the same institution. Additionally, Hilary Carter has obtained several certifications, including "Understanding the Recommendations of the Task Force for Climate-Related Financial Disclosures" and "Introduction to Climate-Related Disclosures" from the Climate Disclosure Standards Board in June and May 2020 respectively. Hilary also holds the "Certified Bitcoin Professional" certification from the CryptoCurrency Certification Consortium, obtained in June 2016.
