Peter Smulovics

SIG Leadership Committee Member On The Innersource SIG at Yocto Project

Peter Smulovics has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Peter started their career as a Developer at Hypermedia Systems Kft. in 1997. Peter then worked as a Senior Architect at EPAM Systems from 2002 to 2005, where they led projects utilizing Microsoft technologies and implemented solutions for insurance companies. Following that, they joined Fornax as a Senior Architect from 2005 to 2007, leading application integration projects in sectors such as pharmaceutical, utility, and telecommunication. Peter then worked at Microsoft as a Platform Strategic Advisor from 2007 to 2008, helping enterprise companies understand Microsoft's product offerings and collaborating with VARs and ISVs. Peter continued their career as a Senior Architect at Carnation from 2009 to 2010, and later at 3G Multimedia from 2009 to 2010. In 2010, they joined Morgan Stanley as a Vice President, and later became an Executive Director of Software Development Experience, leading projects in Windows, .NET, and Microsoft R&D. Peter also organized the FSI Autism Hackathon in 2018. Currently, they are serving as the Co-chair for Open Source Readiness in Financial Services at The Linux Foundation starting in 2022.

Peter Smulovics attended Berzsenyi Daniel Secondary School from 1993 to 1997, where they completed their high school education with a focus on mathematics. Following this, they enrolled at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and studied there from 1997 to 2002. Peter obtained an MSc in Technical Informatics, specializing in Business Telecommunication, Software Technology & Specification, and Bank Informatics. In October 2009, Smulovics also obtained a certification from Microsoft, known as the MCPD (Microsoft Certified Professional Developer).
