Laurie Avery is a certified RYT 500-hour yoga instructor with experience at Yoga Alliance since January 2019. Avery previously served as a Therapeutic Specialist Level II at Helping Hand Home for Children and completed an internship at RAICES, assisting with legal processes and leading meditation sessions. As a caretaker and teacher at Santa María del Mexicano, Avery organized lesson plans and activities for foster children, focusing on emotional growth and reading comprehension. Earlier experience includes a counselor role at Camp Mystic, where Avery was recognized with the Best Counselor Award, and positions in civic engagement at Southwestern University, as well as a marketing assistant role at James Avery Jewelry. Laurie Avery holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Southwestern University, completed in 2014.
