VP Of People + Culture at Yoga Alliance

Marcus Wade, PHR, CPP has worked in various roles throughout their career. Marcus began their professional journey as a Residential Property Manager at Dahn Corporation in 2003. Following this, they worked as a Management Trainee at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in 2005.

Later, Wade joined MarcParc Inc. in 2006, serving as an HR Manager and then as a Director of Human Resources from 2007 to 2015. During their time at MarcParc Inc., they focused on streamlining workplace practices, driving cultural change, and developing people solutions that aligned with business objectives.

In 2008, Wade joined Unity Health Care as an HR Training & Development Specialist, where they directed and led training programs for over 13 medical facilities in the DC Metropolitan area. Marcus also coordinated new hire orientation and implemented alternative learning methods to support workforce development benchmark.

In 2009, Wade returned to MarcParc Inc. as a Director of Human Resources, overseeing a large team and conducting corporate-level investigations in response to employee complaints.

From 2015 to 2017, Wade served as the Director of Human Resources at BWW Law Group, LLC. Here, they were a key member of the executive management team, responsible for implementing and managing all HR, administrative, and facilities staff, systems, and procedures. Marcus also implemented various programs and initiatives that improved employee morale, decreased turnover, and streamlined HR processes.

Their most recent experience includes positions at Yoga Alliance, where they served as the Interim Director of People + Culture in 2018, followed by their role as the VP of People + Culture, a position they currently hold.

Marcus Wade, PHR, CPP completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sport Management from GSC in the period from 1998 to 2003. Furthermore, they obtained their PHR certification from SHRM in June 2013.
