Megan Tucker is an experienced culinary professional with a strong focus on plant-based and vegan cuisine. Currently serving as Chef, Owner, and Founder of Mort & Betty's since November 2018, Megan operates a vegan Jewish deli popup that highlights vegetable-centric dishes inspired by Jewish culinary traditions. In addition, Megan works as a chef at Yoga-urt, specializing in flavor research and development for organic soft serve. Previously, extensive experience at Whole Foods Market included roles in global culinary operations and prepared foods, with responsibilities ranging from coordinator to associate team leader. Earlier culinary positions include executive chef at Amavi Restaurant, which emphasized farm-to-table dining, as well as sous chef and pastry chef roles at various establishments. Educational credentials include an AOS in Culinary Arts from The Culinary Institute of America, a Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from eCornell, and a BA in Religious Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Yoga-urt is L.A.'s first all organic & vegan soft serve shop with 3 stores in Santa Monica, Echo Park and Glendale. Yoga-urt's smooth and creamy soft serve is made-fresh daily on-site from an almond cashew base with added probiotics. We offer 6 flavors at a time including Chocolate Bliss, Strawberry Serenity, Salted Caramel Zen, and Coffee Karma, rotating a few flavors every week or so. We also offer smoothies, banana splits, housemade pie slices, kombucha floats, brownie shakes, iced tea, iced coffee, and more. There is plenty of patio seating and nearby parking.
