Alakesh Chetia

Alakesh Chetia has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Alakesh is the Founder and CEO of Yoma Micro Power since 2016. Prior to that, they worked at SunEdison as the President and Managing Director of Rural Electrification from 2013 to 2015. Before their role at SunEdison, Alakesh served as VP and GM at Cypress Semiconductor from 2004 to 2011. Alakesh also has experience as an Entrepreneur, developing a prototype of a GPS-enabled portable device for proximity-based search, and as the CEO and Co-founder/COO of iMODL/TransEDA. Alakesh started their career at Unisys as a Team Leader and Staff Engineer from 1992 to 1996.

Alakesh Chetia pursued a Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka from 1985 to 1989. After completing their undergraduate studies, they went on to pursue a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with a specialization in Computer Engineering at Michigan Technological University from 1989 to 1992.
