Werner van Wyk

Werner van Wyk has a diverse work experience in the electrical engineering field. Werner started their career at Cape Gate as an Electrical Technician, where they were responsible for VSD and PLC installations and maintenance. Werner then moved on to Eskom as an Electrical Engineering Technician, where they maintained power equipment and played a role in determining the root cause of failures and replacement of power transformers. After that, they joined Sasol as an Electrical Engineering Technician and later as an Electrical Engineering Technologist, where they worked on a variety of electrical projects, provided technical support, and reviewed technical drawings and specifications. Most recently, Werner has been with Yondr Group, first as the EMEA Regional Technical Manager and currently as the Operations Technical Director for the EMEA region. Yondr Group specializes in providing data center infrastructure and operations services to tech companies.

Werner van Wyk has a comprehensive education history. Werner obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Operations Management and Supervision from North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit in 2018. In 2019, they received a Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) in Electromechanical Engineering from the Department of Labor. Additionally, Werner completed a LEAD management program in Business Administration and Management from GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) in 2017. Werner pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit in 2016. In 2012, they obtained a Master Installation Electrician (MI) degree in SANS 10108 from the Department of Labor. Werner also holds a Diploma in Project Management from North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit, completed in 2010. Werner earned the designation of Installation Electrician | Registered person in SANS 10142 from the South African Department of Labor in 2009. Werner's undergraduate studies include a B-tech degree in Electrical Engineering from Vaal University of Technology (2006-2009) and a National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Vaal University of Technology (2002-2004). Furthermore, they have obtained additional certifications such as Measure What Matters (Blinkist Summary) from LinkedIn in 2022, an Arc flash study from SAIEE in 2019, and membership in the Golden Key International Honour Society in 2018.
