Assistant Superintendent, Language Acquisition, Funded Programs, School Counseling & The Arts at Yonkers Public Schools

Lissette Colón-Collins currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Yonkers Public Schools, a position held since September 2019, overseeing the Division of Language Acquisition, School Improvement, Funded Programs, and Music & the Arts. Previously, Lissette held the role of Assistant Commissioner at the New York State Education Department from September 2015 to July 2019 and was a Senior Fellow at the Regents Research Fund from September 2013 to September 2015. Lissette also served in various capacities at the NYC Department of Education, including Instructional Leader for the Office of English Language Learners, Director of ELL Parent Outreach, and Chief of Staff for the Office of English Language Learners. Lissette began a career in education as a Bilingual Teacher for New York City Public Schools from September 1994 to June 2003. Lissette's academic credentials include two Master's degrees in Education Supervision and Administration and Bilingual and Multilingual Education, along with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Law from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra.
