Kathryn Blacker is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in leadership roles within cultural and media organizations. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at York Museums Trust since January 2023, Kathryn previously held the position of Chapter Steward/Chief Operating Officer at York Minster from May 2013 to December 2022. Earlier roles include Deputy Director & Head of Public Programme and Head of Media Development at the National Science and Media Museum, where Kathryn directed the Museum's Digital Strategy. Kathryn's career began at BBC Sport, progressing from Assistant Producer to Innovation Producer, specializing in the integration of new technologies to enhance viewer experience. Kathryn holds an MA in Modern History from the University of Oxford, obtained in 1998.

Supported by the Council, York Museums Trust is responsible for York Art Gallery, York Castle Museum, Yorkshire Museum and Gardens and York St Mary’s.
