Rashma Beharry

Rashma Beharry has extensive experience in the education sector, currently serving as Principal and previously as Vice Principal at York Region District School Board since September 2018. Prior to these roles, Rashma worked as a Teacher from September 2009 to June 2018, focusing on special education, literacy, English language learning, and performance enhancement. Rashma also served as an Examiner for Teachers' Oral Exams at Montessori Teachers College from 2007 to 2011 and worked as a Montessori Teacher in various Toronto schools between 2001 and 2008. Earlier in Rashma's career, a position as a scriptwriter was held at AVM from 1987 to 1989. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.
