Hamida Bhimani has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Currently, they serve as a Board Member for the Health System at CADTH (Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health), where they provide strategic advice and fiduciary oversight. Additionally, they are a member of the Finance and Audit Committee at CADTH. Prior to this, Hamida was a Co-Facilitator for the Leadership for Women: Practical Strategies for Success Program at Schulich ExecEd. Hamida also held the position of Head of Nursing Practice at the Regional Municipality of York, where they co-designed a strategic vision and implemented organizational excellence initiatives. Hamida achieved the Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) designation during their time there and implemented an award-winning leadership program. Hamida also served as the Chairperson (President) of the Ontario Association of Public Health Nursing Leaders. Furthermore, they participated in the Diversity Mentoring Program at the Ontario Public Service, Ministry of Children and Youth Services. Earlier in their career, Hamida worked as a Senior Policy Consultant at the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, where they led research projects and facilitated the integration of children's services. Hamida also worked as a Manager for the University of Toronto, Hospital Report.
Hamida Bhimani's education history includes several degrees and certifications. Hamida completed their Bachelor of Science in Nursing at McMaster University from 1997 to 2000. Later, from 2001 to 2003, they pursued a Masters in Health Sciences in Health Administration from the University of Toronto, focusing on Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation.
Furthermore, Hamida Bhimani obtained the title of Certified Health Executive (CHE) from the Canadian College of Health Leaders. Hamida also completed additional certifications, including Coaching for Greater Effectiveness from the Center for Creative Leadership in the US, and Coaching with LEADS from Royal Roads University.
Moreover, Hamida Bhimani is currently studying Psychometrics to become a Myers Briggs (MBTI) Facilitator for Individual and Team Development, with a specialization in Organizational Leadership. Hamida is expected to complete this program in 2022.
