Swapan Kumar Das is an experienced statistician and analyst with a strong background in data analysis, performance measurement, and program evaluation across various sectors. Currently serving as a Statistician in Strategic Services at York Regional Police since November 2016, Swapan conducts data analysis related to service deliveries and survey research. When 14 municipal police departments and the York County Security Police amalgamated to form York Regional Police on January 1, 1971, their region looked a lot different than it does today. At the time, about 200 York Regional Police members served roughly 169,000 citizens, who were grappling with the thought that they may lose their neighborhood cop.
