Larry Mo

Chief Imaging Scientist at Yorlabs

Larry Mo has over 30 years of work experience in the field of imaging science. Larry began their career in 1986 as a Research Engineer at the University of Toronto's Doppler Ultrasound lab. In 1991, they joined GE Healthcare as a Senior Physicist in their Applied Science Lab (Ultrasound). In 2000, they became a Senior DSP Technologist at Berkeley Concept Research / ComSilica (startup). In 2001, they joined ZONARE Medical Systems as a Senior Scientist prior to their acquisition by Mindray. In 2009, they moved to GE Research as a Principal Scientist and Ultrasound Lab Manager & Global Portfolio Leader, where they managed labs of 10-17 members and was responsible for aligning GE-funded projects with business strategy. In 2020, they joined YorLabs as their Chief Imaging Scientist and also established their own consulting firm, LMo Consulting, LLC (MD). As a Research Development Consultant, they provide services such as ultrasound-related imaging R&D, team lead, hiring, tech marketing support, strategy and business connections. Their current clients include Seno Medical Instruments and other startups in different parts of the world.

Larry Mo has a PhD and MASc in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto, as well as a BASc in Engineering Science from the same university.
