Andrew Tanner has a long and varied work experience in the energy and cleantech sectors. Andrew began their career in 2012 as Chief Engineer at THiNKnrg, a renewable energy project developer. Andrew then served as an Advisor for Zenogen Pty Ltd, which developed a highly efficient, low cost graphite electrode for hydrogen production via water electrolysis. In 2014, they acted as VP Business Development for Geli, a software company that integrated, networked, and economically operated energy storage systems. That same year, they also became a Mentor for Advance – Australia’s Global Community and the Ignition Labs, Australia's first cleantech seed accelerator program. In 2016, they were a Mentor for Cleantech Open, and in 2018 they were a VP Global Partnerships for GreenSync, a global leader in providing software to control and dispatch distributed energy resources. Andrew was also a Member of the Experts Network for Commercialisation Australia, and a Young Leadership Dialogue Delegate for the Australian American Leadership Dialogue in 2018. In 2019, they became the VP Strategy & Growth for Yotta Energy.

Andrew Tanner attended the University of Sydney from 1998 to 2003, where they earned a BE/BCom in Mechanical Engineering & Business. Andrew then returned to the University of Sydney in 2013 and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Global Executive MBA Program in 2014.
