Joel Hile has extensive experience in the marketing and communications field, with a focus on the performing arts. Joel most recently served as the Director of Marketing & Communications at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Marketing and Communications at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, where they played a crucial role in launching the center and implementing various marketing strategies. Joel also worked at the Pasadena Playhouse as the Director of Public Relations and served as a freelance consultant for marketing, publicity, and promotions. Early in their career, Joel worked at The Walt Disney Company and the Disney Theatrical Group as a Senior Marketing Manager, where they oversaw various marketing projects and managed a team.
Joel Hile studied at the University of Washington from 1982 to 1987. Joel obtained a BA/BS degree in Business Administration/School of Performing Arts and a BS degree in Marketing from the University's Michael G. Foster School of Business.

Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts
The Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya), which has quickly become one of the cultural jewels of Los Angeles County, is located on the campus of California State University, Northridge. Under the leadership of Executive Director Thor Steingraber, The Soraya continues to expand its programming and outstanding multidisciplinary performances. The mission of The Soraya is to present a wide variety of performances that not only includes new and original work from the Los Angeles region but also work from around the world that appeals to all of LA’s rich and diverse communities. Each year The Soraya offers a vibrant performance program of classical and popular music, dance, theater, family, and international events. Completed in January 2011, the 1,700-seat, award-winning theatre was designed by HGA Architects and Engineers with lead design architect Kara Hill and is LEED Gold certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. The venue was recently cited by the Los Angeles Times as “a growing hub for live music, dance, drama, and other cultural events.”
