Bassam Helmy is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in commercial leadership and strategic management across various sectors. Currently serving as Regional Director for Middle East & Africa at Transtek Systems, Bassam has been instrumental in driving digital transformation since June 2024. Prior roles include Member and Mentor at Young Arab Leaders, Regional Commercial Director for Middle East at Tarjama&, and Country Commercial Director for the UAE at Iron Mountain, where responsibilities included leading commercial strategy across sales, business development, and product management. Bassam's career began at DHL, where roles progressed from Sales Territory Manager to Call Center Supervisor, complemented by foundational experience in sales and marketing at Utopia for Publishing & Distribution. Educational qualifications include a Diploma in Certified Supervisory Management from Florida State University, an Executive Management Program at the American University of Beirut, and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the Faculty of Commerce.

Young Arab Leaders (YAL) is an independent, not for-profit organization, founded in 2004 at the World Economic Forum in The Dead Sea under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Young Arab Leaders (YAL) aim to build on the capabilities, skills and the power of their regional network to create positive change in the Arab world by providing the Arab youth with channels to tackle the challenges of unemployment through empowering them with the right education and promoting a culture of entrepreneurship amongst them.
