Raed Al-Samahiji is an accomplished business leader with extensive experience in various sectors. Since January 1992, Raed has served as Owner and Managing Director of Universal Trading, overseeing the operations of the Universal group of Companies. Raed also holds multiple directorial roles, including Managing Director of Universal Lighting, Executive Director of Universal Doors & Windows, and Director of Universal Food Factory, where responsibilities encompass market strategy, product development, and total lighting solutions. Additionally, Raed has been the Chairman of Universal Business Technologies since January 1999 and is the Founder, President, and CEO of GS1 Bahrain, promoting the GS1 Barcode system in the region. Raed's involvement in various organizations includes serving on the Board of Directors for the Bahrain Communication User Association and co-founding the Young Arab Leaders. Raed's educational background includes dual MBAs in Business Administration from St. Edward's University, completed in 1992.

Young Arab Leaders (YAL) is an independent, not for-profit organization, founded in 2004 at the World Economic Forum in The Dead Sea under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Young Arab Leaders (YAL) aim to build on the capabilities, skills and the power of their regional network to create positive change in the Arab world by providing the Arab youth with channels to tackle the challenges of unemployment through empowering them with the right education and promoting a culture of entrepreneurship amongst them.
