Katie Stevens

Katie is a chartered accountant with over 25 years of financial and audit experience, working in both the public and private sector.

Since qualifying Katie has worked for multi-national corporations in the construction industry, consumer goods and professional services, gaining extensive experience in the areas of transformation, project management, mergers and acquisitions, finance and risk management, compliance, and internal and external audit.

Being diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 23, Katie has an increased passion for diversity and inclusion and desire to raise awareness and inspire disability confidence. This has included being Chair of the Disability Employee Support Network for the UK rail industry. Today, she continues to work voluntarily and is presently a Trustee for two Multi Academy Trusts in the North East, in addition to being Chair of the Finance, Audit, Risk and Resources Committee for Ascent Academies’ Trust - providing education and support for young people with special educational needs. Katie is also Finance Director of a local Community Benefit Society and a Member at Ethos Academy Trust, which is focused on maximising the life chances of all children.

Katie has a first-class BA in History and Philosophy and graduated from the Warwick University MBA programme in 2004.

Katie was appointed as a Trustee in October 2020.
