William Welsh

William Welsh has extensive work experience in the YMCA industry. William worked as the Chief Executive Officer at Kankakee Area YMCA from 2018. Prior to that, they served as the Executive Director at Gateway Region Y from 2013 until 2017, where they managed two branches and oversaw a $3 million operating budget. From 2011 to 2013, William was the Director of Operations at YMCA, leading a multi-site organization with 7,500 members and 70 employees. William also held the position of Executive Director at Paris YMCA, IL from 2004 to 2011, where they successfully expanded membership and increased contributions. Before that, they served as the Branch Director at Lowell & Ionia YMCA, MI from 1999 to 2004, where they grew the business and expanded programming.

William Welsh attended North Central College in Illinois from 1985 to 1987, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.
